Excirsion Itinerary

Discover Scotland’s vibrant cultural capital on this private shore excursion from Greenock (Glasgow), created exclusively for cruise passengers docking at Greenock Cruise Terminal. With a dedicated driver-guide and flexible pacing, this private tour showcases the very best of Glasgow’s history, art, and architecture — all with port pick-up, drop-off, and our trusted Shore Excursion Guarantee.

Your day begins in the city’s West End with a visit to Kelvingrove Park and the University of Glasgow. Founded in 1451, it’s one of the oldest universities in the English-speaking world and the largest in Scotland by student body. Take a stroll through the leafy campus, admired for its Gothic spires, grand courtyards, and panoramic views of the city.

Next, explore the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, one of Glasgow’s most loved landmarks. Its vast and varied collection includes masterpieces, artefacts, and natural history displays that capture the spirit of Scotland and beyond.

After lunch nearby, continue to Glasgow Cathedral, a stunning example of mediaeval architecture and one of the few Scottish cathedrals to survive the Reformation intact. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and learn about its centuries-old history.

We’ll then head to George Square to admire the grand City Chambers, before visiting The Burrell Collection in Pollok Park — a world-class museum housing over 9,000 works of art and historical treasures within a striking modernist building.

With Glasgow’s highlights explored in comfort and style, your private driver will return you to the cruise terminal — the perfect finale to your day ashore in Scotland’s largest city.

  • For any shore excursion in Scotland, preparation is key to enjoying your adventure comfortably. Our weather is famously changeable, so checking the forecast and dressing in layers is essential:

    • Light base layer

    • Sweater or fleece

    • Waterproof jacket

Comfortable shoes are also a must, as many destinations feature cobbled streets, rugged trails, or castle grounds that require footwear capable of handling different types of uneven surface.

While many places accept cards, having a bit of cash on hand can be helpful.

A small backpack is useful for carrying essentials like snacks, extra clothing, and any souvenirs you may pick up along the way.

Finally, don’t forget to bring a camera or smartphone to capture all those sights on your excursion with us!
